How Execu|Search Put Me To Work: Diana Krystopher

Catherine

This is part of a series of testimonials from candidates who have successfully been placed by The Execu|Search Group. This testimonial comes from Diana Krystopher; you can find our past testimonials here

When her former employer announced they were moving to Long Island City, Diana Krystopher knew she wanted to find a new opportunity that would allow her to keep a reasonable commute. After meeting with Dan Giuliante, an Associate within The Execu|Search Group’s Accounting + Finance division, and explaining that work-life balance was a priority in her job search, he helped her look for companies that would properly address her needs. Recently, Diana was offered a Senior Accountant position at a manufacturing company! After her positive experience with Execu|Search, Diana was happy to speak with us about it:

On her background…

I graduated from Adelphi University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Since then, I have gained a broad range of experience that has allowed me to expand my knowledge across different areas of accounting. In the past, I have worked as an internal and external auditor, and as an accountant at varying levels. Additionally, I have experience working in the telecom, textile, and nonprofit industries.

On what she was looking for…

Once I was told my previous job would be relocating, I knew the commute would be too much of a strain on both my personal and professional life. In order to address my family’s needs during the day, I wanted to find an employer that was close to home, had feasible hours, and would provide a good work-life balance.

On how TESG worked to meet her needs…

After discussing what I was looking for with Dan, I could tell he was extremely attentive to my needs. Dan specifically looked at companies that were both looking for experienced accounting professionals and were known for providing a healthy work-life balance. I knew I needed to work for a company that would be willing to accommodate my family’s needs, so Dan made sure each place I interviewed was understanding of this.

On preparing for the interview…

Dan would call me every time a potential opening came up and provided me with the information necessary to have a successful interview. During these interview prep sessions, Dan would give me background information on the company and what they were looking for in a candidate. From there, he was able to tell me the specific experiences I should highlight during the interview. Since I have a lot of experience, having someone help guide me on which experiences were most relevant helped me feel more confident during the interview.

On her overall experience…

I was very impressed by how friendly and professional the staff at Execu|Search were during my job search. Everyone I worked with prioritized my needs to ensure that I found the best opportunity for my career, as well as my family’s needs.

“Diana and I have built a great relationship since we started working together,” says Dan. “Finding an opportunity that provides a good work-life balance isn’t always easy, but Diana was very patient throughout the process. I’m confident she will be very successful in her new role!”
